It depends what kind of style you like. I love plantation shutters for a variety of reasons. They let in or keep out light very well, insulate your windows well and last a long time. They’re also classic so never go out of style. I like the wider slatted ones. They’re pretty expensive though! I’m getting ready to move out on my own again after divorce and won’t be able to afford them so I’m pondering about what to get on the windows at my next place. Maybe just simple mini blinds and nice curtains.
What do you think? Answer below!
if you’re really looking for old Hollywood type glamor go for metallic blend and satin fabrics and apply them in layers keeping them very “drapy” and puddled on the floor
i think roman shades look really cute..i wanted them but my mom made me go with honeycomb shades which i absoulutly hateeeee
Long and pulled back.
I always thought the soft velvety curtains that look like auditorium curtains looked glamorous..but they might be too heavy or too tacky in the wrong environmment.
Glamorous Tiebacks, with an equistite pin can add to the glamour too.
Of course it depends what room you’re putting them in…glamour in the kitchen is different than glamour in the sitting room or dining room…
or antique silk? That could be glamorous.
Colors, gold, royal purple, burgandies, deep reds, silvers, blacks I would think of as glamourous
Here’s a luxury gold:

Don’t forget the rods to should be “glamours” or unique, ornate if it fits with your decorating style, or have distinctive curves or lines in a modern home
Here’s an elegant white airy window treatment:

This is defined as “elegant” which I consider more conservative than “glamourous”

I have to stop daydreaming…
Silk looks the most glamorous to me, no pattern or design. But I guess everyone has their own idea about what glamorous is. Here is an example of glamorous window treatments:

I also think a damask pattern is glamorous:

The key is simple and elegant.
Glam calls for a lot of luxurious fabric and layers. Fabrics that have a shine to them work best. Consider side panels over full-window sheers and a soft, swag valance treatment. The panels should reach the floor, and possibly even pillow out and they should be hung high above the window. Pinch pleat is best for this look, but you could do pole top under the valance for the side panels.
