I know a lot of people do not like blinds but they are really the only things that can do all that. These days, you can get blinds made out of a lot of different materials, including wood etc. There are stores that sell only blinds for the best selection. Check the web. Here is one link below. Do an online search for companies in your area, or go to some of the major manufacturer sites (hunterdouglas.com, blindcrafter.com, graberblinds.com). Many people do vertical blinds or draperies for their patio doors, but you do not have to be so limited in your selection. There are a lot of other options so it is good to do the research and see what suits your lifestyle and decor.

I am looking for a simple do-it-yourself curtain using one piece of material.
I am looking for examples of a no-sew curtain that is just wrapped around the rod.

just measure your windows, but heavy fabric and then sew three edges over. for the fourth edge fold it over enough to go around the rod and sew it. its fairly easy my sister made treatments for her whole house.
