There is a balcony outside and I am thinking of building a vertical sunshade of some kind to help block the sun. Would I be better off doing this or spending more on inside window treatments? The heat is absolutely astonishing. Top floor of a double A-frame.

I purchased room-darkening curtains from J.C. Penny’s and they don’t darken good at all. So I purchased another set of curtains and put another curtain rod up. Now I have two curtains in one window and it blocks out the light and all that hot sun. You could still build a sun blind of some sort if you wish, and have curtains too. You would probably only need one set of curtains if you have the sun blind tho. Good luck.

Getting dark curtains that blocks out the sun is the best and probably the cheapest way. you can get them from places form Walmart to JCPenny and other places……..
Try this stuff from DBox inc. Its called Glass Masking Paint. You paint it on and when your ready to take it off you just peel it off. I comes off in one big sheet. Really cool product. Property managers use it for vacancy windows. Looks real clean and professional. Comes in Black or White.
