Ideas for bay window window treatments?
Question by Jacki Austerman: Ideas for bay window window treatments?
I have a bay window that has very uncommon dimensions. It’s impossible to find a rod that will fit to go all the way across so I have been trying to find window treatments that will fit in each window that look nice. I have no idea what to put in them. They are very tall, narrow windows. I have to buy special sizes no matter where I look. What kind of window treatment would look nice in a bay window?

Putting up window treatments for your bay window can be a challenge. Here are several ideas that you can consider:
Drapery Panels
When using this, raise the rod a couple of inches below the molding to create a higher looking ceiling for a more elegant feel to the room. Choose fabrics that would be easy to compress somewhere on both ends of the return walls to frame the view and not cover it.
Silk Panels
Silk panels are the traditional way of beautifying bay windows. You can use an ornate rope to Tie silk near the end to create body to the window treatment.
Roman Shades
These are functional yet elegant. Flat Roman shades not only work great at framing bay windows, they also add color and texture to the overall interior room design.
For Bay window hardware, use hinged elbows that can swivel to allow continuous application of rods.
Hope this helps. 🙂
