They sell curtains for just that Look on the internet you will find them. They are called dark out curtains for windows.
What do you think? Answer below!
I have no clue what type of window treatment you should get. I’m so jealous that you get to look at stars from your bed–how nice!!
Why don’ t you try wearing a sleep mask? It works for me.
Hunter Douglas has electronic cellular shades that you can buy at almost every home improvement store…or via the web! They do install too! There a bit expensive, but worth it!
Otherwise a cheap alternative is privacy film, it won’t totally block the sun but it will give you much needed tint, and allow you to see out at night, you’d have to install ur self tho 🙂
We put horizontal blinds on ours. I think bali was the brand. They come custom cut with tracks that the blinds slide in. They even have remote control operated models. You can get them about as dark as you want them. Cuts back on heat/cool lose also.
You must have bought our previous house!
Our bedroom had two skylights which were great except that they had no screens–hello, wasps!–and the morning light just poured in.
My husband built a frame out of cheap pine to fit the open skylight’s frame exactly, so it didn’t fall into the room but just rested on the small lip. It was nothing fancy. He’s no carpenter, just a guy who owns a saw and a hammer.
Once he was satisfied with the fit, he sanded it a little and painted it to match (white), then stapled screening to it. Problem one solved. I cut cardboard pieces which lay on the screen at first, when we had a ton of things more urgent to do in the new house. Later, I cut foamboard from a craft store to fit, in a color that coordinated. It weighs almost nothing and blocked the light completely. The whole thing probably cost us 15 bucks, and lasted the eleven years we lived there.
Enjoy sleeping in at the new place!
